In January 2023, after spending 22 years as the VP of Implementation and Training at a company, I found myself facing an unexpected turn in my career path – a layoff. In researching content for this blog, everything I found talked about shock, uncertainty, and fear. I can definitely say that was NOT my experience. With a wealth of experience in operations and ERP software, I decided to leverage my expertise by starting my own consulting business, catering specifically to advertising agencies and marketing firms. The layoff happened on a Wednesday, and I was in business on Friday.
From the moment I launched my consulting business, I hit the ground running. Drawing upon my years of experience, I offered tailored solutions to advertising agencies and marketing firms seeking to streamline their operations and optimize their use of ERP software. Whether it was implementing new systems, providing comprehensive training, or troubleshooting existing processes, I was committed to adding tangible value to every client engagement.
I have always had an excellent work ethic. My former employers all benefited greatly from it. My work ethic is one of my superpowers. However, it is no longer driven for others but for myself.
Reflecting on my journey from layoff to launch, I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way. Starting my own consulting business has allowed me to reignite my passion for helping others and opened doors to new connections, collaborations, and possibilities. I am excited to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of my clients and the industry as a whole. By leveraging my expertise, I embarked on a fulfilling journey of entrepreneurship. Through my consulting business, I have had the privilege of adding value, making a difference, and charting a new course for my professional future. As I look ahead with optimism and determination, I am grateful for all the support I have received from family, friends, former colleagues, and new clients.
